Yale Transitional Center was built to replace the Courtyard Shelter, formerly a bus terminal in Downtown Santa Ana and retrofitted to help those in need. Yale Transitional Center is designed to be a huge improvement in quality of life over the former which was known to house up to 400 transients prior to the pandemic.
This 425-bed homeless shelter is to provide vital resources such as housing, food, facilities, employment and housing assistance, healthcare, mental health services and substance abuse treatment to those who are without housing.
This design build project was the re-design and engineering of the existing entrance curtain wall, redesign of the East entrance and storefronts, exterior storefronts, and auto operator.
